A home, not just a service

Our Cossham Gardens service is home to up to 20 adults with complex physical disabilities. Our service feels like family – relaxed, supportive, and centred around the people who live here. Every day brings new moments to celebrate: from small wins in independence to big laughs over mealtimes

Your working hours

16 hours per week. To be able to work a 6 hour shift on a Monday, 5 hours on a Tuesday and Friday to assist with hydrotherapy.

Enhanced pay: £1.00 per hour will only apply to night working (8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-Ins. 

What you’ll do

As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping customers maximise their mobility, independence, and wellbeing. Under the direction of the Physiotherapist, you will:
 • Assist with physiotherapy sessions and safe moving, handling, and transfer techniques
 • Support customers in using equipment such as standing frames, tilt tables, and mobility aids
 • Carry out passive exercises as instructed by the Physiotherapist
 • Promote physical activity using tailored exercise plans
 • Support with daily living tasks such as personal care, mealtimes, and medication
 • Assist with hydrotherapy sessions where used, including poolside setup, cleanliness checks, and safe customer entry/exit
 • Maintain accurate person-centred records and contribute to assessments and reviews
 • Encourage independence and communicate effectively with customers, families, and professionals
 • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements
