A home, not just a service

Symonds House is a spacious and modern residential home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, supporting 20 disabled adults. Surrounded by wonderful views of the local countryside, our home is close to shops, pubs and cafes. You’ll find good transport connections to London, Stevenage, Peterborough, and Cambridge. Live here and you’ll be supported to be independent, healthy and active.

Your working hours

Tuesday and Thursdays only 

9-3:30 (with 30 mins unpaid break)

Enhanced pay: £1.00 per hour will only apply to night working (8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-Ins. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide safe, reliable transport for residents, staff, and visitors
  • Support individuals to access appointments, activities, and community events
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, ensuring safety and cleanliness
  • Maintain accurate records and logs for journeys and maintenance
  • Offer a friendly, supportive presence to everyone you transport
