Full time, 35 hours per week

Service based. The role is to cover two services – Bath St and Alemoor Crescent.

£38K per annum plus enhanced benefits and will be dependent on skills, experience and knowledge.

The Service Manager role will be responsible and accountable for holding and maintaining the appropriate registration and the overall management of the services in accordance with Leonard Cheshire’s vision, mission, policies, and procedures.

As a Service Manager you will directly manage the day-to-day operation of the services.  Managing resources to ensure exemplary customer service to people who use our services whilst ensuring budgetary compliance.

You will be accountable for monitoring, maintaining, and providing the highest standards of personal and clinical support and service delivery while promoting independence and choice to customers.

You will be responsible for the line management of the Team Leaders within each service, with overall accountability for all staff working in the services.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Recognised social care qualification and registration (as appropriate to the needs of the respective Service).
  • To hold a SVQ Level 4 qualification in health and social care or currently be working towards or prepared to work towards this.
  • Equivalent qualification as required for registration with the Care Inspectorate.
  • Significant experience of operating in a supervisory or management capacity in a care environment.
  • Desirable to have a full, clean driving licence (as required, where necessary)
  • Demonstrable commitment to continue training and developing professionally including keeping up to date with current knowledge of standards and legislation.
  • To be able and willing to travel and stay away overnight if required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to motivate others.
  • An ability to manage budgets, understand and analyse spreadsheets and make effective decisions to drive efficiencies at service level.
  • To be able to work on their own or as part of a team.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of the needs of customers.
  • Understanding of employment practice and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Clear understanding of and ability to deliver to the regulatory framework and legal environment in which we work.
  • To have highly developed IT skills in standard Microsoft packages.
  • Demonstrate partnership working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
