A home, not just a service

Set in the rural village of Staplehurst, Kent, Sobell Lodge is a warm and welcoming home supporting adults with complex needs. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, taking part in a wide range of activities and being actively involved in their local community.

Supporting up to 21 residents with complex needs, primarily those with cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. This part-time role offers flexible hours across the week, focusing on delivering engaging activities both on-site and in the community. You will work closely with a small team to reinvigorate the activities program, bringing creativity and energy to enhance residents' quality of life.


Your working hours

Part time – 20 hours per week.

Ideally we are looking for an Activities Worker to work 7 hours on both Wednesday and Thursday, with the remaining 6 hours on any other day - however we remain flexible and are happy to discuss alternative arrangements.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive social and recreational activities
  • Support residents to explore their interests and take part in community life
  • Organise outings, events, and creative sessions that encourage participation and fun
  • Work closely with individuals who are non-verbal and use wheelchairs, ensuring every activity is accessible and enjoyable
  • Bring a flexible, caring, and person-centred approach to everything you do

What helps you shine here

  • Previous experience as an Activities Worker is essential. 
  • Experience supporting non-verbal, wheelchair users with complex needs is advantageous 
  • Full driving licence required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and creatively, including occasional evenings or weekends
  • A warm, positive attitude and genuine passion for making a difference
