If you’re a strategic, values-driven leader with a passion for high-quality care and strong operational delivery, this is your opportunity to make a real impact across supported living services.

A role with purpose

As an Operations Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role across your region, ensuring our services deliver outstanding care, strong financial performance, and full regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Director of Supported Living England, you’ll lead, coach and inspire Service Managers and your regional Administrator—building high-performing teams that consistently deliver excellent outcomes for the people we support.

You’ll also be a visible leader, strengthening relationships with regulators, commissioners and partners, while contributing to the wider strategic direction of Leonard Cheshire.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Leading and managing Service Managers and your regional Administrator
  • Driving high-quality, person-centred service delivery across multiple sites
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, health & safety and safeguarding requirements
  • Delivering strong financial performance, including budget management and efficiency improvements
  • Building and maintaining relationships with regulators, local authorities and key stakeholders
  • Embedding a culture of “right care, right support, right culture” across services
  • Monitoring performance against KPIs and implementing improvements where needed
  • Leading regulatory audits and responding to any findings or concerns
  • Supporting business growth, development opportunities and local projects
  • Raising the profile and reputation of Leonard Cheshire within your region
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams including Finance, People and Quality
  • Participating in out-of-hours management cover and undertaking service visits

Why you’ll love working here

We’re committed to supporting you to succeed, with a strong focus on wellbeing, development and impact:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • 28 days’ holiday (rising with service)
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Health and wellbeing support, including Employee Assistance Programme
  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development
  • The chance to shape and influence services at a strategic level

What helps you shine in this role

  • Proven management experience, ideally in social care or supported living
  • Experience managing multiple services and leading dispersed teams
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and quality standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and deliver financial performance
  • Confident leadership style with the ability to coach and develop others
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • A strong commitment to delivering positive outcomes for disabled people
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office

You’ll also need to:

  • Be able to travel regularly, with occasional overnight stays
  • Participate in an out-of-hours rota
  • Be aligned with the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire
  • Desirable:
  • Qualification in Social Care or Management
  • Established networks within local or national government
