A home, not just a service
Bradbury Wing is a 20-bed care home located in the tranquil setting of Newcastle, surrounded by beautiful trees and nature. The home specialises in providing complex care for young adults with physical and learning disabilities. Residents here have access to advanced medical support, including PEG feeding and ventilators, tailored to individual needs. The peaceful, homely atmosphere makes Bradbury Wing a calm and welcoming environment, ideal for those needing a quiet retreat with easy access to nature. It is tucked away near a park and woods, offering a relaxing and peaceful living experience. The team is also working to upgrade the décor, making the home even more comfortable for residents. .

Your working hours
 This is a full-time role, with flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends as part of a rota. You may also be asked to assist with on-call duties to support the smooth running of the service. Typical shifts may include:
 • Day shifts: [e.g. 7am–3pm or 2pm–10pm]
 • On-call duties as part of the rota
 We’ll work with you to agree a pattern that suits both the needs of the service and you.

Enhanced pay: £1.00 per hour will only apply to night working (8pm Monday to 7am Friday) and weekend working (8pm Friday to 7am Monday). This does not apply to Sleep-Ins. 

What you’ll do
 • Plan, organise, and deliver social and recreational activities that enhance daily living
 • Support customers to explore new hobbies, interests, and outings
 • Act as escort/driver for outings when required
 • Work with volunteers and other team members to ensure inclusive, person-centred experiences
 • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
 • Promote independence, choice, and wellbeing for each customer

What helps you shine here
 • Experience in activities or social care roles, supporting people with disabilities
 • Level 2 Activities qualification (or working towards) advantageous
 • Full, clean driving licence if driving is required
 • Flexible, creative, and compassionate approach
 • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
 • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
