“It’s about taking a strategic view – ensuring our properties are safe, compliant, and fit for the future while delivering real value for the people who live and work in them.”

That’s how one of our Surveyors describes the role. If you’re an experienced, driven professional ready to lead complex projects and make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.

A portfolio that makes a difference

You’ll be working across a diverse national property portfolio, including domestic and healthcare settings, supporting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible. This is more than buildings – it’s about creating safe, high-quality environments that truly feel like home.

You’ll play a key role in delivering a major capital improvement programme, while ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Your working hours

This is a full-time role with flexibility required to meet the needs of the service. Travel across the UK is essential, including occasional overnight stays. You may also be required to work outside your designated region when needed.

Varied pattern of work but expected to be in services 3 days a week and at home 2 days subject to priorities and workload

Why you’ll love working here

As well as the opportunity to shape and influence a national property portfolio, we offer a strong package to support your wellbeing and career:

  • 30 days holiday per annum inclusive of bank holidays
  • Contributory Pension Scheme & competitive life cover
  • Health cash plan: Affordable healthcare at your fingertips
  • Career development: support for professional qualifications and leadership growth
  • Employee Assistance Programme – support when you need it most
     Flexible working approach where possible

What you’ll do

  • Oversee building surveying and building services across a designated portfolio
  • Deliver building surveys, pathology inspections, and detailed reports
  • Develop and manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and budgets
  • Lead and manage capital projects from inception through to completion
  • Prepare specifications and schedules of work
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, with a strong focus on fire safety
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Coordinators and Service Managers to deliver reactive and planned works
  • Manage consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers to ensure quality and value
  • Support leasehold property management across the portfolio
  • Provide strategic property advice to senior stakeholders
  • Produce clear progress reports and maintain strong working relationships across teams

What helps you shine here

  • A property-related degree and ideally MRICS or MCIOB qualification
  • Extensive experience in a Building Surveying management role
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, compliance, and CDM requirements
  • Proven ability to manage complex workloads and multiple projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in housing, healthcare, or social care environments (desirable)
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Full UK driving licence
