Protecting Leonard Cheshire’s systems and data across our nationally distributed care organisation, you will manage day-to-day security monitoring, incident response and Microsoft security tools, working closely with our external IT service provider. You will review alerts, investigate threats and ensure core protections remain effective.

You will also support security improvements through projects, supplier governance and compliance activities. Working with the Head of IT and external partners, you’ll have real ownership of security monitoring and the freedom to improve processes, introduce automation and strengthen our security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage phishing threats, quarantined emails and vulnerability alerts
  • Coordinate security incidents with our managed service provider
  • Oversee security-related tickets and changes
  • Support compliance with NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) or similar frameworks
  • Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and supplier security reviews
  • Deliver the organisation’s security awareness programme
  • Provide security input to IT projects
  • Support initiatives such as multi-factor authentication rollout, security controls and automation
  • Identify opportunities to improve security processes using automation or AI tools

Skills & Experience

Experience as a Security Analyst and hands-on use of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft 365, Entra and Azure security tools are essential. You will also have:

  • Experience supporting security incident response
  • Understanding of cloud, networking and modern IT environments
  • Experience with frameworks such as DSPT, Cyber Essentials or equivalent
  • Ability to create security awareness materials for non-technical staff
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset
  • A methodical approach to managing operational priorities

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK without the need for sponsorship now or on expiry of current visas

What the Role Offers

  • Fully remote working
  • Variety – combining operational security with project work and improvements
  • Opportunity for Microsoft Copilot licence and AI apprenticeship
  • Supportive team environment and mentorship from an experienced Head of IT
  • The opportunity to protect the systems and data that support vulnerable people across the UK

Benefits

  • Generous company pension scheme with life cover
  • 25 days holiday, increasing one day per year to a maximum of 30 days plus bank holidays
  • Flexible leave with buy/sell option
  • Private Health Insurance / Cash Health Plan & Group Income Protection Insurance
