Your working hours
We offer occasional hours, working at weekends.
We’ll work with you to agree a pattern that suits the service and your availability.

What you’ll do
• Maintain gardens, grounds and surrounding areas to a high standard
• Care for lawns, hedges, flowerbeds, shrubs, trees and fences, including regular inspections
• Use and maintain gardening equipment safely (mowers, tractors, tools, etc.) and arrange servicing when required
• Keep outdoor areas clean, tidy and safe – including garden waste disposal and general site upkeep
• Manage the garden budget within agreed limits
• Control weeds and pests, and ensure hazardous substances are used and stored in line with COSHH regulations
• Maintain pond areas and ensure they remain safe
• Provide basic maintenance support
• Work safely, following health & safety, safeguarding and regulatory compliance procedures
• Participate in training, supervision and team meetings to build your knowledge and skills
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or passionate about developing your skills, we’ll give you all the training you need to thrive in this role.
What helps you shine here
• A gardening qualification (Level 2 or equivalent) – advantageous but not essential
• Experience maintaining gardens or grounds
• Ability to manage a budget effectively
• Flexibility to meet the needs of the service
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with residents and colleagues
• Knowledge of health & safety and safe use of gardening equipment
