Job Description

Description and requirements

Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2027 | £40,000 per annum pro rata | 35 hours per week | England-wide travel

Leonard Cheshire is introducing Sona, a new digital system that will make everyday tasks such as HR records, rostering, timesheets, approvals and payroll simpler and more efficient. We’re looking for practical, people-focused System Implementation Trainers to help services across England feel confident with this change.

You’ll train and support managers, team leaders, nurses and frontline colleagues to use Sona confidently in their day-to-day work. Full training will be provided, so previous system implementation experience is not essential — what matters most is your communication style, confidence with technology and ability to support people through change.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analysing and understanding current practice at each service, identifying how this can be translated into Sona
  • Training different groups of workers in the Sona functionality they need, including rostering, timesheets, approvals, HR records, payroll and use of the mobile app.
  • Supporting workers to access and use the Sona app on their phones, helping them feel confident with the technology.
  • Guiding, advising and supporting services during their first few weeks using Sona, reinforcing training and helping resolve anomalies.
  • Providing feedback to the wider project team on issues, challenges and opportunities to strengthen implementation.
  • Responding empathetically and transparently to worker concerns while maintaining alignment with the target operating model.
  • Helping services maintain accurate rosters, record absences correctly and follow key requirements such as clocking in and clocking out.

Working pattern and travel

This role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for early starts or later finishes when needed. You’ll travel across services in England and should be comfortable staying away from home for up to four nights per week. Mileage, hotel accommodation and evening meals will be covered in line with policy.

About you

  • Confident, friendly and able to build trust quickly.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and explaining them clearly to others.
  • Positive, practical and able to support people through change.
  • Happy delivering training to individuals and small groups.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to work around service needs.
  • Experience in system implementation, training, business change, rostering or even a background in care would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Full driving licence, access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel across Englandincluding overnight stays, are essential.

Why join this project?

  • Gain valuable experience in a large-scale digital transformation project.
  • Build practical skills in training, change management, stakeholder engagement and system implementation — experience that is highly transferable across projects, operations and people-focused roles.
  • See the direct impact of your work by helping frontline teams move from paper-based processes to simpler, more efficient digital ways of working.

Benefits

  • 28 days holiday per annum inclusive of bank holidays (+1 day every year up to 33 days)
  • Stream: Access up to 40% of your pay before payday
  • Free Blue Light Card: Enjoy exclusive discounts and perks
  • Contributory Pension Scheme with competitive life cover
  • Health cash plan: Affordable healthcare when you need it
  • Free DBS check
  • Employee Assistance Programme for 24/7 support
