We are looking for an experienced and driven Improvement Manager to join our Operations team and play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality, performance and sustainability of our services across England and Wales.


About the Role

As a key member of the UK Community Services Senior Management Team and Executive Leadership Group, contributing to strategic development and organisational growth, you’ll be responsible for leading improvement initiatives across a portfolio of social care services. Providing targeted intervention, coaching and operational support to services requiring performance improvement, you’ll help them achieve excellence in quality, compliance, financial performance and customer outcomes.

This role requires regular travel and overnight stays across the UK, with most of your working week spent within services providing hands-on leadership, governance and support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and support Service Managers to improve performance and service quality.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to achieve quality, compliance, financial and safety targets.
  • Manage service turnaround plans and regulatory improvement actions.
  • Drive efficiencies and best practice to enhance outcomes for the people we support.
  • Support services to deliver budget targets and identify growth opportunities.
  • Reduce vacancies and increase referrals across services.
  • Improve workforce stability and reduce agency staffing costs.
  • Provide strong leadership, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead or support safeguarding investigations and improvement actions.
  • Embed the principles of "Right Care, Right Support, Right Culture."
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with commissioners, regulators and stakeholders.


About You

You will be a highly experienced social care leader with a proven track record of delivering service improvements and operational excellence within budget and across multiple sites.  You'll have a strong understanding of social care regulations and policy, along with excellent stakeholder management, leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.  

Essential Requirements

  • Significant senior leadership experience in social care.
  • Relevant professional and/or management qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering service improvement and turnaround programmes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • Passion for improving outcomes for disabled people.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays.

Desirable Requirements

  • Qualification in Social Care Management.
  • Strong professional network within the social care sector.
